Companies Also Join Forces to Create Narrowband Product and Compelling Communication Services Using Yahoo! Mail and Messenger Platforms

Sunnyvale, CA & London, U.K. -- June 16, 2003 -- Yahoo! Inc. Through the agreement, BT Openworld broadband and narrowband ISP customers will receive access bundled with an exciting and exclusive Internet experience, featuring a co-branded browser and user environment and a range of compelling products and features. The companies also announced their intention to develop innovative communication services utilizing Yahoo! Messenger. Additionally, the companies plan significant developments to BT's email offerings using the award-winning Yahoo! Mail platform.
"We believe the powerful combination of Yahoo!'s world-renowned brand and BT's leading market position can help drive increased DSL adoption in the United Kingdom," said Terry Semel, chairman and CEO, Yahoo! "With this announcement, Yahoo! is the first Internet brand to have entered into this kind of deep access and programming alliance in the three largest broadband regions, Europe, Asia and North America. Through our global network, Yahoo! serves the largest broadband audience in the world and we are committed to providing the best broadband user experience anywhere."

Pierre Danon, CEO of BT Retail, said: "I firmly believe BT and Yahoo! will offer a vastly superior customer experience compared to any Internet rivals and that we can attract more new subscribers by offering customers the best Internet experience that money can buy. For customers to get the most of the Internet, several factors are crucial. Access must be safe and fast, use must be personalized and flexible, and content must be compelling. By joining with Yahoo!, we can satisfy all of these criteria, as well as providing customers with support from two world class organizations. Both organizations share a common aim -- to deliver the best possible online experience. Joining forces will allow us to achieve this, but also makes great business sense by strengthening both of our market-leading positions."

The first product to be developed through the partnership will be a comprehensive broadband service. Designed from the ground up for broadband customers, BT Yahoo! Broadband will offer an array of new and exciting applications, not available elsewhere, in the first truly integrated service of its kind in Europe. With a customized browser, a personalized homepage, and a host of other broadband services, including streaming news and entertainment, BT Yahoo! Additionally, a version for narrowband customers is expected to be available in the coming months. Yahoo! and BT expect to embark on a significant, coordinated joint marketing effort to support the suite of integrated products.

Today's announcement follows a limited commercial arrangement by the companies in February this year, for the co-promotion of Yahoo! premium services and BT Broadband.

YAHOO! ANNOUNCES RELATIONSHIPS WITH WEBEX COMMUNICATIONS AND BEA SYSTEMS FOR ENTERPRISE INSTANT MESSAGING

Yahoo! Messenger Enterprise Edition to Leverage Technology and Solutions for Web Conferencing, Business Process Collaboration, and Custom IM Solutions

Sunnyvale, CA -- June 11, 2003 -- Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO - News), a leading global Internet company, today announced new relationships with WebEx Communications (Nasdaq:WEBX - News) and BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:BEAS - News) to enhance and extend the real-time communications and collaboration capabilities of Yahoo!® Messenger Enterprise Edition (http://enterprise.yahoo.com/messenger/). The added functionality will create a comprehensive platform to accelerate business communications, enable greater productivity, and further establish presence and real-time messaging as essential enterprise technologies.
From IM to Web Conferencing
Available in the next release, Yahoo! Messenger EE will allow employees to easily setup and launch WebEx meetings from their desktops. WebEx Meeting Center conferences, leveraging the WebEx MediaTone Network, will allow users to share applications such as QuickBooks®, Excel® or AutoCAD®, PowerPoint® presentations, browsers and desktops, with integrated video, IP voice and telephone conferencing.

"Instant messaging in conjunction with Web conferencing from WebEx delivers a powerful new communications model for businesses," said Steve Boom, senior vice president, Yahoo! Enterprise Solutions. "Allowing employees to seamlessly transition from text chat to voice conferencing to application sharing and file transfer is critical to creating an integrated real-time collaborative environment."

"WebEx Meeting Center and Yahoo! Messenger EE are natural complements," said Subrah Iyar, CEO of WebEx Communications. "The combination of our service with Yahoo! Messenger EE provides a solution that expands and enriches a company's business communications needs quickly and cost-effectively. By integrating WebEx with Yahoo! Messenger EE, users have access to the capabilities of our unique architecture, allowing them to easily escalate from IM sessions to engage in reliable and highly interactive Web meetings in a highly secure environment."

Business Process Collaboration -- Using IM to Increase Business Efficiency
One of the most powerful aspects of instant messaging technology is "presence" -- the ability to register and broadcast a person or an application as online and available to an approved audience. While the use of presence in business communications is already being realized on an employee-to-employee basis, the next step is to add presence and real-time messaging capabilities to business applications and internal corporate infrastructures for app-to-employee and employee-to-app collaboration.

"We envision an enterprise platform that leverages presence and real-time messaging to quickly communicate vital information, such as a customer's order status or a breakdown in a backend process, to the right person at the right time," said Scott Dietzen, CTO of BEA Systems. "By combining Yahoo!'s enterprise instant messaging and presence capabilities with BEA WebLogic Workshop, BEA and Yahoo! can make it extremely easy to combine real-time human participation with automated business processes. Through WebLogic Workshop's easy to use drag and drop development, business can create the specific applications they need to increase efficiency and move towards becoming Real-Time Enterprises."

Developers will be able to easily use Yahoo! Messenger EE functionality from within BEA WebLogic Workshop, BEA's unified development environment that is designed to enable any application developer to rapidly build enterprise-class applications on the BEA WebLogic Platform. Developers can rapidly connect to and use Yahoo! Messenger EE to build presence and IM-based applications using a Yahoo! Messenger Control for BEA WebLogic Workshop. This will help developers integrate these "bots" into backend systems, such as corporate directories, team-based collaboration tools, and sales force automation (SFA), supply chain management (SCM), and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Customization for Business Applications
To help better integrate Yahoo! Messenger EE and build presence, Yahoo! Enterprise Solutions turned to Accenture, a leading management consulting and technology services company. Accenture recently applied Yahoo! Messenger EE at BEA for their eSupport application. Accenture combines knowledge of IM and the vision of IM-based applications, along with deep knowledge of business platforms and backend systems from leading portal software and enterprise application vendors.

"IM is quickly becoming the foundation for a new class of real-time interactive alerts, notifications and presence-based business applications," said Lon Huffman, a partner in Accenture's Communication & High Tech group. "For example, a supply chain management system that encounters an order exception can leverage presence to push out alerts to employees who are online, allowing the exception to be cleared in near real-time."

One immediate example of Yahoo! Messenger EE integration is seen in the upcoming version of BEA eSupport, to deliver enhanced Web support. BEA eSupport is now designed to leverage presence and real-time messaging for BEA mission critical support customers to enable them to interact with assigned BEA customer support engineers and account managers.

About Yahoo! Messenger Enterprise Edition

Google and Lycos Europe Announce Strategic Alliance

Google's content-targeted advertising service enables Lycos Europe to monetize Lycos Tripod member pages

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California/GÜTERSLOH, Germany - June 5, 2003 - Google and Lycos Europe today announced an agreement whereby Google will provide relevant content-targeted ads to the member pages of Europe's largest homepage building community, Lycos Tripod. This agreement extends the reach for Google advertisers to a potential of four million member pages of Lycos Tripod, while enabling Lycos Europe to generate revenue from one of its largest community products. Google's content-targeted advertising service will begin in the UK and Germany immediately, and will be introduced in France in July and in Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Sweden in August.

This partnership will leverage Google's content-targeted advertising to provide relevant text-based ads to users of member pages of Lycos Tripod. The relevancy of the ads is a high priority for both partners. The personal homepages of Lycos Tripod members offer a wide range of topics for Google's advertisers such as arts, business, hobbies, travelling, games and others. These pages generate approximately 450 million to 500 million page views per month. As soon as a Lycos Tripod member page is viewed, Google's content-targeted advertising service identifies the meaning of the web page and then automatically serves relevant text-based ads to the viewer on the right side of the page. Google's large advertiser base enables the company to serve targeted ads for a diverse range of queries without distracting users with unrelated ads.

"Content-targeted advertising builds on Google's innovative technology for serving keyword-targeted advertisements on search results pages and applies it to the rest of the web," said Omid Kordestani, senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Field Operations at Google. "Google's partnership with Lycos Europe, which is our first pan-European strategic partnership for content-targeted advertising, significantly extends the reach of Google's fast-growing network of European advertisers."

"Because of the relevancy of the presented ads of Google's content-targeted advertising service we have the opportunity to integrate relevant ads on our popular homepage building community without annoying our members or the visitors of the member pages," said Christoph Mohn, CEO of Lycos Europe. "This way of monetizing our communities helps us to further invest and develop these free services to the benefit of our users."

About Lycos Europe
Lycos Europe (Prime Standard : LCY / Nouveau Marché : 5770) is one of the leading European Internet destinations operating a pan-European network of websites in ten languages.
